Professor Todd Roberson, Senior Lecturer of Finance in the Kelley School of Business for the past fifteen years, died on February 28, 2021, at the age of fifty-eight. He earned his B.S. from Indiana University (1985), B.S. Mathematics and Secondary Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver (1995), and M.S.M Management from Indiana Wesleyan University (1990). Todd loved and excelled in both in-class teaching, online teaching, and development of a MOOC. He received many Teaching Awards, including the Trustees Teaching Award and the Schuyler F. Otteson Award for Undergraduate Teaching Excellence. Todd served in a variety of school leadership positions, including Faculty Coordinator of the Kelley School Business Foundations Certificate and Minor, Accreditation and Assessment Management and Innovation, High Ability Recruitment Program, and International Curriculum Development in Kenya and Sub-Saharan Africa. His guidance and counsel were sought by many faculty.
Todd is survived by his loving wife, Jane M. Roberson; daughter, Eve E. Roberson; father, Norman L. Roberson; and brother-in-law, Scott Hildebrandt. Todd’s mother, Joyce Bright Roberson; and sister, Lisa Roberson, preceded him in death. Todd enjoyed time spent in nature, hiking, biking, and sailing. He also loved music and sang with the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus. He loved to watch his daughter swim and often announced swim meets for the Lawrence North Swim Team. The Kelley School faculty, staff, and students mourn his passing and celebrate his life.
THUS, BE IT RESOLVED: That this memorial resolution be adopted by the Faculty Council of Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and placed in the minutes and its permanent archives; that a moment of silence be observed in his honor; and that a copy of this memorial resolution be delivered to his wife.
